The Serbian Association of Economists (SAE) and the Vienna Economic Forum (VEF) are organizing the Vienna Economic Talks – Belgrade Meeting 2017 under the patronage of the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. The conference is to be held on May 21st -22nd 2017 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. It is expected that this convention, which promotes regional cooperation and Serbia’s European orientation, shall be attended by more than 200 participants from 19 countries, the Government’s high officials and by the leading representatives of the economic community.
The conference’s primary objective is to emphasize the importance of regional economic cooperation that might position the entire region firmly on its joint European path, as well as to insist on great responsibility of regional leaders regarding this matter. The main topics of this two-day conference shall be: responsibility for regional connectivity, the need to encourage regional cooperation on the European path and regional potentials for investments.
The Vienna Economic Forum was founded in 2004 with the aim to popularize and promote investment opportunities and economic cooperation between countries and territories which are located between the Adriatic and Black Sea, its center being Vienna. The idea to establish the Vienna Economic Forum was supported by the most respectable companies and businessmen in Austria. Since it was established, the Vienna Economic Forum organized a large number of conferences in Bucharest, Belgrade, Ohrid, Istanbul, Bečići, Tirana and other cities, all under the patronage of the prime ministers of the host countries. President of this prominent organization is Dr Erhard Busek, former Vice-Chancellor of Austria and Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe.
