“Advanced Technologies as a Tool for Economic Growth”

In cooperation with the Serbian Association of Economists, Niš Association of Economists successfully organized the traditional Niš Economic Forum (Counseling Meeting) on November 7^th, 2018, in the Officers’ Club in Niš. For the second time in a row the Forum was held within the Forum of Advanced Technologies, a significant three-day event organized by the City of Niš and Office for Local Economic Development and Projects. The topic of this year’s Forum was Advanced Technologies as a Tool for Economic Growth. Part of the program was also the 8^th ICT Forum.

The gathering was opened by Mr. Darko Bulatović, Mayor of Niš, and Mr. Nebojša Garić, IT Director of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Prof. Boban Stojanović, President of the Niš Association of Economists, delivered the introductory speech, presented the program of the Forum and emphasized its significance for the City of Niš, the region of Southern and Eastern Serbia and Serbia as a whole.

The keynote address on the topic of Overview of Macroeconomic Situation in Serbia was held by Mr. Aleksandar Vlahović, President of the Serbian Association of Economists.

After in-depth panel discussions, the 8^th ICT Forum was held, which included the presentations of Telekom Srbija and Siemens Business Services.

The interest of the media, expert and general public for the gathering was considerable, which is shown by large attendance during the whole day of the Forum. Bearing in mind the organizational concept and program of the gathering, impressions and positive comments of the participants and media support, the Forum was deemed very successful.
