On April 9^th, 2021, the jubilee 20^th edition of the scientific convention “Institutional Changes as a Determinant of Economic Development of the Republic of Serbia” was held at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Kragujevac. The scientific convention was organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Kragujevac in cooperation with the Serbian Association of Economists. The event was held under complex epidemiological conditions, with adherence to all the health and safety measures and with attendance of professors and researchers from the faculties of economics in Kragujevac, Belgrade and Niš, of the Serbian Scientific Society of Economists (NDES), but also of numerous guests from the real and financial sector and of the Student Body Parliament, as well as of the key persons from Kragujevac’s city administration.

Conclusions of this event were heavily influenced by the consequences to the Serbian economy brought about by the Covid-19 crisis. All papers presented at this scientific convention were published in the Proceedings and hence made available to the community of experts and economic policy makers, which will have both scientific and practical implications to designing and strengthening institutional solutions in the upcoming period.
