Serbian Association of Economists becomes the regional center of the World Academy of Art and Science
On November 16th, the Executive Committee of the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), a prestigious global organization, made a decision to proclaim the Serbian Association of Economists its official regional center. WAAS is a nongovernmental organization founded in 1960. Among its founders were the most renowned intellectuals of the time: Albert Einstein, Robert Oppenheimer, Bertrand Russell, Joseph Needham, Lord Boyd Orr, as well as many others. The CEO of the Academy, Mr. Garry Jacobs, participated in this year’s Kopaonik Business Forum. The Academy serves as a forum for reflective scientists, artists, and scholars dedicated to addressing the pressing challenges confronting humanity today independently of political boundaries or limits, both spiritual and physical – a forum where these problems can be discussed objectively, scientifically, globally, and freely from vested interests or regional attachments with the aim of arriving at solutions that affirm universal human rights and serve the common good of all humanity. WAAS is founded with faith in the power of original and creative ideas – real ideas with effective power – to change the world.
In cooperation with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and Serbian Chapter of the Club of Rome, WAAS and the Serbian Association of Economists recently successfully organized the Fourth International Conference on Future Education.
