In cooperation with SAE and under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Milorad Dodik, the RS Association of Economists SWOT organized the third Jahorina Economic Forum entitled “Regional Cooperation as an Important Lever of Economic Development for SEE Countries”. Jahorina Economic Forum 2018 was held this year, on May 3rd and 4th, in the Termag Hotel on Jahorina.
The Forum, focused on regional cooperation as an important lever of economic development for SEE countries, was attended by around 450 participants, which included Ms. Ana Brnabić, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Mrs. Željka Cvijanović, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Milorad Dodik, the President of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Dragan Čović, Croat Member of the BiH Presidency, ministers from the region, representatives of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the academic community and many businessmen.
The main topics of the two-day forum were regional cooperation, gray economy, non-tariff barriers and labor outflow. Panel discussions were also focused on the importance of banking in the development of and support to economy, public sector, digitalization, public-private partnership as a model of financing public projects, investments in science and culture and e-government.
On November 24th last year, SAE and the RS Association of Economists SWOT signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Belgrade with the aim of intensifying joint actions of these two professional associations.
