Professor Milica Uvalić and the founder and co-owner of the New Frontier Group, Branislav Vujović, are presented with the Certificates of Excellence of the Serbian Association of Economists
Prominent Serbian economist Professor Milica Uvalić and the founder and co-owner of New Frontier Group Branislav Vujović are awarded with this year’s Certificates of Excellence, awards traditionally presented by the Serbian Association of Economists (SAE) to the prominent figures of the Serbian economic and business circles.
“With this award, SAE has been striving to make a contribution, in line with its fundamental goals, to popularizing economic science and profession, as well as to affirming individuals and promoting the achievements made in the field of economics”, president of SAE, Aleksandar Vlahović, stated.
Prof. Milica Uvalić, this year’s winner of the
Certificate of Excellence for outstanding contributions in the field of economic theory and policy is one of the most important contemporary Serbian and internationally recognized economists in the field of comparative economic systems and economies with a focus on the Balkans, CEE and the European Union. She holds a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Nowadays, she is a full professor at the University of Perugia, at the Department of Political Science. Formerly, Prof. Uvalić was a member of the UN Committee for Development Policy, president of the European Association for Comparative European Studies, and president of the Italian Association for Comparative Economic Systems. She has published a large number of articles in prestigious international journals. After the October 5 changes, Prof. Uvalić was also the Assistant Minister for Foreign Economic Relations in the Government of the FR of Yugoslavia.
Branislav Vujović, founder and co-owner of the New Frontier Group, is awarded with this year’s
Certificate of Excellence for outstanding contributions in the field of business economics and management. Mr. Vujović graduated and obtained his master's degree at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade. Together with his partners, he founded the New Frontier Group in 2006, based in Vienna. As CEO and, later, president of the company, the focus of Mr. Vujović's engagement was acquisition, digital innovation and business models. The group has grown rapidly organically and today it operates in 20 countries on 5 continents. Since mid-2020, Mr. Vujović has been performing a supervisory function in the New Frontier Group. In addition to his work in the company, Branislav Vujović has been engaged as a guest lecturer at the IEDC School of Management in Bled, as well as at the PWC Academy. He has published a large number of articles and papers in the field of digital revolution and digital economy.
