Petar Veselinović is full professor at the Faculty of Economics – University of Kragujevac, at the Department for General Economics and Economic Development . In his scientific career he published 197 scientific papers, 6 textbooks and 2 monographs. For the purpose of scientific and professional training, he visited Cracow University of Economics and Guglielmo Marconi University in Rome.

Professor Veselinović was involved in a number of research projects. He takes an active part in two projects supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia: Challenges and Perspectives of Structural Changes in Serbia – Strategic Directions of Economic Development and Compliance with EU Requirements (179015), whose grant holder is the Institute of Economic Sciences in Belgrade, and Research and Development of the Platform for Scientific Support in Decision-making and Managing the Scientific and Technological Development of Serbia (47005), whose grant holder is the Institute Mihailo Pupin in Belgrade.

During his career at the Faculty of Economics – University of Kragujevac he held the position of the vice-dean for education and student affairs, as well as the position of the vice-dean for scientific research. He was also director of the Centre for Economic Research and since. From 2016 to 2022, he served as the dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Kragujevac. From December 2015 until September 2016 he held the position of the vice-rector for education and student affairs of the University of Kragujevac.

Apart from university engagement, professor Veselinovic actively contributes to the wider community as well. He was member of the City Council for Economic Policy and Finance, coordinator of the Local Anti-Corruption Forum of the City of Kragujevac, chairman of the Board of University Library of the University of Kragujevac, chairman of the Board of the Football Club Radnički 1923 and member of the following boards: Red Cross of Kragujevac, Foundation Professor Ilija Rosić and Futsal Club Ekonomac.

Professor Veselinović is a member of the Presidency of the Serbian Association of Economists, since 2015. At the Founding Assembly, held on February 25th 2016, he became president of the Society of Economists of Kragujevac.
