Prof. Jovan Rankovic, PhD, is a retired full professor of the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade.
He was born in 1930 in Smederevo. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade in 1953 and received his PhD degree in 1964.
At the Faculty of Economics he was elected as a teaching assistant in 1958 for the course Accounting, and was requalified as a teaching assistant for the course Balance Sheet Analysis, for which he was elected as an assistant professor in 1965, followed by an associate professor in 1975, and a full professor in 1980.
In addition to teaching the courses for which he was elected, prof. Rankovic gave lectures in Financing and Financial Analysis in undergraduate studies. He also gave lectures in postgraduate studies at our faculty.
In addition to his work at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, he taught at the Faculty of Economics in Kragujevac, and also participated in teaching of several postgraduate courses in Sarajevo, Titograd, Zagreb, and Kragujevac.
He was the Secretary of the Department of Business Economics, the secretary of the journal Ekonomski anali, a member of several faculty committees, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Association of University Teachers, a member of the Editorial Board of the journals Knjigovodstvo and Samoupravna interesna zajednica. He was also the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Ekonomika udruženog rada, a member of the SIV working group which assessed the effects of the proposed measures and the activities for a faster and more complete implementation of the long-term economic stabilization program, and a member of the SIV working group which assessed the financial position of the economy and the SFRY banks.
Prof. Rankovic is the author of several textbooks, books, monographs, and papers.
