Slobodan Petrovic graduated from the University of Belgrade in 1974 as Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. Immediately after graduating, he got employed in Energoprojekt, a consulting and engineering company. As a young engineer he worked as a designer and a consultant on various projects in the field of power transmission systems and thermal power stations. As a director, he was in charge of various branches and two companies within the Energoprojekt Group. He was the project manager of a consulting contract in the Middle East for 10 years. The value of the project including the financing costs amounted to $1.1 billion. In the same period, he initiated and organized two investment projects for the company - a residential-business block with 12 villas, 60 apartments with swimming pools, club, tennis courts, and fitness center in the Middle East. The other project was in Belgrade - a factory for the production of PET bottle caps.
Since August 2002 he has been a partner at Salford Capital Partners Inc. and General Manager of Salford Capital Partners Inc, the representative office in Belgrade, for the Balkans region. It is a private equity and investment management company representing and managing New World Value fund. The leading investments of the fund include the acquisition of seven companies - five being the largest dairies in Serbia (such as Imlek, Novi Sad, Subotica), Knjaz Milos, a producer of mineral water, soft and energy drinks, and Bambi-Banat confectionery company.
We should also mention the private company he runs with his sons. It is a retail chain Miroc, Kladovo and VISARIS, a company for research, development and production of digital x-ray machines, which is gradually building its image of a reputable manufacturer of high-quality medical products.
