Kosta Josifidis was born in 1953. He worked at Novi Sad University as a full professor, teaching macroeconomics, European integration, EU macroeconomics, economics and EU economics. During his university career, he has published a number of textbooks, monographs and papers on macroeconomic theory and policy, international finance, methodology of economics, political economy of transition, globalisation and European economy.
In addition to his rich experience and membership in international professional associations, Mr Josifidis discharges a number of significant functions. He is a member of the Presidency and Executive Board of the Association of Economists of Serbia and president of the Association of Economists of Vojvodina. In addition, he was a member of the National Bank of Serbia’s Council and the National Bank of Serbia’s Council of the Governor (2006–2011). He was a member of the Senate of Novi Sad University, president of the Council for Social Studies of Novi Sad University, coordinator of the master programme in European studies at Novi Sad University, and president of the programme council of the European Studies Centre – CAESAR of Novi Sad University. He is editor-in-chief of journal Panoeconomicus and member of editorial boards of international journals: International Journal of Economics & Business Research, associate editor, International Journal of Economic Research, managing editor, Journal of Business Economics and Management, Technological and Economic Development of Economy.
From 2002 to 2003, he served as a Fulbright scholar at Washington State University at Pullman. He also had several study visits abroad: the USA (adjunct professor 1995, WSU Pullman, visiting scholar 2003, PSU Portland), Great Britain, Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Portugal, Thailand and Greece where he was a guest professor (2000). He was an invited lecturer and member of PhD and MSc committees of University Sophia Antipolis in Nice, France. He is also a member of several professional associations: American Economic Association, Association for Evolutionary Economics and Association for Comparative Economic Studies.
