Jelena Galić started her professional career in 1994 at the Economics Institute in Belgrade. In June 2001, she started her position as Executive Director. During the time spent working at the Economics Institute, she participated in numerous projects of international development agencies in the area of economic policies management and the development of market economy institutions. She continued her career in Deloitte d.o.o. Belgrade (Deloitte CE), in the position of the Director for Business Consulting and a leader for the financial sector for the cluster including Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Republika Srpska. Since 2015, she has been the President of the Executive Board of AIK Banka a.d. Belgrade. Under her leadership, AIK Banka has become one of the systemic banks on the domestic banking market and it has expanded its activities on the EU market by purchasing Gorenjska banka d.d. in Kranj (Slovenia). The exceptional financial results that have been achieved, the innovation and the high quality of the services provided by the bank have been confirmed by international awards, including the award for the Bank of the Year in Serbia for 2021, awarded by “The Banker”, which is one of the most prestigious institutional awards in the banking industry.

Jelena pays special attention to the development of social responsibility, not only through her personal contribution to activities that are important for the community, but also through the contribution of the company. She supports and fosters through her own example and through a mentoring entrepreneurial spirit, and she encourages women’s entrepreneurship and solidarity, for which she was awarded a special letter of appreciation from the AFA organization for her personal commitment to projects and the support for women entrepreneurs and their network. As an associate professor at the Belgrade Banking Academy, she is encouraging young people to bravely make their way up their career ladder, sharing her valuable knowledge and experience with them.

She was awarded the prestigious award “Kapetan Miša Anastasijević” for the best manager in the financial sector in Serbia in 2016, and for her exceptional business ventures and results, she was awarded the “Manager of the Year” award by the Serbian Association of Managers in 2022.

She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Banks of Serbia, the Academic Society of Serbian Economists (ASSE), the Banking Board of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Corporate Directors in Serbia, the “Privrednik” Club and she is one of the founders of the Serbian Association of Managers and Women on Boards Adria.
